Minimal Zen

“Less is more”, the quote by Mies van der Rohe that, like a Zen aphorism, redefined the architecture of the Twentieth Century, is a concept that can actually be applied in any time and any place. 

It’s so simple that it seems easy, while it is exactly the opposite: the absolute essentiality is achieved only after a long process of reflexion, research and removal, just like a sculptor does with a block of marble.

And it is precisely the absolute purity of this raw material that dominates a composition made up of large geometries, sequences of flat surfaces and monolithic volumes, atmospheres dominated by sunlight, in harmonious bend with people and the surrounding environment.
